Google street view shows a photo with chain link fence; the map itself shows it to be right beside the road. So, if the fence isn't there, walk to the point and achieve success. Easy!
Only... it wasn't.
Let's start with work from home, then second job umpiring a baseball game - I had the plate, Meadowdale varsity defeated Lynnwood 7-1 in less than two hours. From there, I drove down 525 then 405, exiting at 124th in Totem Lake. However, the hashpoint was one main road south of that - 116th.
First off, bike lane and nowhere to park. I drove past the point and pulled in to park. Walking back the sidewalk, I noticed just what a steep hillside this was. I traveled far enough east and then noticed just how high the point seemed to be on the hillside. Perhaps the top of the hill, which halfway up was covered in thorny bushes. I logged the photo (sideways, of course - I'd forgotten) and thought the whole expedition may be a failure.
But wait, why give up here? The top of the hill looked fairly clear - maybe there is a path up there? I pulled up an aerial view and saw that there was a walking path south of the Windsor Totem Lake apartments. Would it lead near the hash?!? This could work!
I retrieved the car and drove into the parking area, finding a spot in the "future resident" parking. Hey, I could be - you never know. From there the path went up, and up some stairs and up some more. A guy was sitting on a bench chatting on the phone - nice office you have sir. Further up, and further in!
Reaching the top, a path led along the top of the hill. When I got far enough West this time, I saw that the top of the hillside was accessible, and no thorny bushes to block my way. A little gentle nudging, a few photos, and one geohashpoint reached.
Along the way back I reached the eastern crown of the hill, which had a pretty good view (of the freeway, but imagine this in pioneer days!). After that a drive home and time to log the details.
Wish I could have met Violet there, but there's always a next geohash.
