I am back in Finland again! Since returning on 2025-04-06, I had been watching new geohashes and waiting for a good opportunity to visit one. Last Sunday’s point was near this one and easily reachable, but I was too busy to try it. This one also looked good, and I had time to cycle here after work, so I did. The day was sunny and moderately warm (about 8 °C), so very nice for cycling.

I left from work after 3 PM and set off towards the hashpoint. After three months abroad without any cycling, I had only cycled short distances in the city, and so this was the first longer trip. I could feel the unaccustomedness in my legs and buttocks, but regardless I made good progress and eventually got close to the hashpoint. It did not help that I still had the studded winter tyres which are unnecessarily heavy on clear asphalt, but after I get around to changing to summer tires I expect to get used to cycling pretty quickly.

I parked the bicycle to a place where a path went into the forest. It went to the right direction, and after it ended, I followed the compass direction in the forest. There was still some snow, particularly in the swamp (light blue in the topographic map), but I was wearing boots and thus had no problem walking through. I reached the hashpoint soon enough with ease, and after walking a bit further to the riverside and taking more photos I retraced my steps to the bicycle and cycled back to Oulu.

According to the GPS receiver, the length of the trip was 38.6 km, of which I cycled 38.0 km and walked 0.6 km.
