I love bicycling in Marion County, so this accessible hashpoint in Silverton seemed like a clear signal of how I should get my Saturday exercise. I drove down as far as Woodburn, and shifted to the bike from there, passing through Gervais and near Mt. Angel as I meandered south and east.
I pulled off the road and pedaled a little ways down the railroad tracks before stopping -- and promptly crashed to the ground, my old toe clips had failed a few miles before and I couldn't get my right foot out of the pedal. No harm done, and I wandered down the little-used or perhaps abandoned tracks to the hashpoint.
Silverton has a little bike shop, so I continued on into the downtown and got new toe clips before heading back to the car. 34.1 miles total, which must be about, what, 55 km? 54.88, looks like.
