Expedition
A nasty concoction of the shortening days, illness and lack of exercise has resulted in me fighting the black dog recently. No reasonably accessible geohashes for almost two months hasn't helped. So when a geohash finally popped up in the nearby National Park my heart immediately jumped and there was no way I was missing it.
I headed off shortly after dropping Max at school. Typical Bendigo autumn weather of blue skies and moderate temperatures resulted in an enjoyable, if simple exposition. I took the Leanganook Track to the Diamond Hill lookout, then a fairly direct route through the back streets to Collins St in Kangaroo Flat. The turn off to Flatroo Road was easy to find, and thankfully flattened kangaroos were nowhere to be found. There was the ubiquitous dumped hard rubbish, but thankfully the hash was a further 60m down the road, with no bush bashing necessary.
I chose the Bendigo Creek path for the return trip and was home comfortably for lunch.
