I'll try to catch the coordinates in the evening after work... This should save my constant geohasher achievement!

Expedition

I don't have much time left this month to reach the constant geohasher... So I thought: I'll take two hours after work. I rode my motorcycle up the hill to Iberg and parked wherever I could.

Then I set off in the oppressive heat. First a bit downhill, then a bit uphill again towards the forest. This was just right for me, as the heat was starting to subside a bit.

In the forest, however, it quickly became clear that the sweaty part was still ahead of me... The coordinates pointed somewhere to the left up into the steep terrain! On a map, I saw that there was another path above. I decided to take a wide detour through the forest, but on paths, and then approach the coordinates from above. (see screenshot)

In retrospect, I think that was a good decision! (I skipped the geocache for once...) As I left the path to the geohash, the woods became so dense that I had to squeeze through at times. And the fact that there were thorns and spikes everywhere didn't make things any better. Luckily, I was wearing my sturdy motorcycle pants. But I sweated even more...

At some point, my app showed that I was close enough, given the GPS inaccuracy. But I was over 10 meters off! I can't accept that. So I took a few steps back and went a little down or up again, and turned four times, and my smartphone actually said I was less than a meter off. Hooray! Success!

Now I just had to fight my way down the steep slope... Sweaty, dirty, and with only one tick, I put on my jacket and helmet and headed home. As you can imagine, there are nicer things to do.

And when I got home I realized that the geohash for tomorrow was much easier to achieve than today!!!!
