The all-cycling expedition got off to a rocky start when I realized for the first time that my new bicycle has the skinny kind of air valves rather than the normal-to-me fatter kind. After a brief wait for the bike shop to open and purchasing an adaptor, I rode out to the 205 bike path and from there across the Glen Jackson Bridge into Washington state.
It was my third consecutive weekend using Vancouver's Burnt Creek Bridge Trail, including for last Sunday's expedition, but this one took me quite a bit further north, to and perhaps beyond the Hazel Dell neighborhood. My Vancouver neighborhood knowledge is a bit fuzzy, though.
After arriving at the spot and taking the requisite photos, I headed out to old Highway 99, ate lunch at a Panera, and than took more of a straight-line route to downtown Vancouver and across the I-5 bridge back into Oregon, then along Marine Drive to the airport, and home from there. All told 42.2 miles, which is what, (5/3.1*42.2) = 68.06451612903 kilometers. Give or take.
