I would say with confidence that you are right. Many cycle paths in the UK are on abandoned railway tracks. Lots of people think it is a great loss that so many railways closed in the 1960s, but at least the cyclists benefit now. Thanks for posting the map - I think the section I was using would have been the Isle of Wight Central line between Whippingham and Wootton. --macronencer 23:37, 16 August 2009 (UTC)
