I left volunteering at 3pm and started the drive to the place I planned to park. The drive took 20 minutes longer than expected due to road traffic but, beyond minor confusion with road layouts, there we no issues. I parked in the small roadside area near to a rusted car, which cannot be more than 3 years old as it does not show on streetview. The area had seemingly turned into a dumping ground for people, which was a shame. I changed into walking boots and better trousers and set out towards the point.

If I had reached the point of no-return last expedition when I decided I may as well push through to reach the point, then this could probably be classed as the point of "no, return".

After volunteering, I plan to drive to a parking area close to the point and then walk to the point primarily via a potential path. I aim to reach the point at around 4:45pm. I should reach home at around 6:30pm, resulting in a total time of 3.5 hours for the expedition.

Expedition

KerrMcF

I left volunteering at 3pm and started the drive to the place I planned to park. The drive took 20 minutes longer than expected due to road traffic but, beyond minor confusion with road layouts, there were no issues. I parked in the small roadside area near to a rusted car, which cannot be more than 3 years old as it does not show on streetview. The area had seemingly turned into a dumping ground for people, which was a shame. I changed into walking boots and better trousers and set out towards the point.

After climbing a gate and continuing along the path, I met the bridge across the stream. I was very grateful to see it because without it I could not have safely crossed over. After crossing and climbing another gate, I started navigating through the grass. Unfortunately, within 6 minutes, the ground beneath me had went from relatively stable to being ankle-deep water. I decided not to continue, if I was only 6 minutes in to my 30 minute walk and my feet were already this soaked, there was no point in continuing on. If I had reached the point of no-return last expedition when I decided I may as well push through to reach the point, then this could probably be classed as the point of "no, return".

I retraced my steps and noticed a pink children's toy car which had been discarded and took a photo. I took my bereal. before reaching the car and getting changed back into my dry clothes. The drive home was fine with no issues and despite this expedition not being successful, it was my 2³th expedition attempt which is at least worth something.
