Location

Charlotte, North Carolina. In a lot under development

Participants

  • Art was the only attendee.

Plans

Investigation of the tax records on the property showed that it was still owned by the developer. I contacted the number on the neighborhood's homepage to set up a meeting with a sales agent.

Expedition

Google Maps showed that the hashpoint was smack dab in the middle of a lot in a development in southwest Charlotte. I set up a meeting with a sales agent to view the property since I am looking for property in the area anyway, might as well look at property and geohash at the same time. Upon arriving at the development, I noticed that construction had stalled here and only one house had been started, the one on the opposite side of the neighborhood. I let the agent show me around the house that was way out of my price range and asked him if I could stop by lot one on my way out. He said sure so I drove to the lot, hopped out and ran to the center of the lot, protecting my phone from the rain. After I thought I had the point, I ran back to my car and drove home. After checking the traceroute, I realized that I had actually ran into lot 2 and not lot 1. All that trouble and nothing to show for it. I guess I'd better check my location better next time.
