First Thursday
Alternate location of the Sci Fi Museum has been posted. What time should we meet? --Thomcat 13:38, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
July 3rd-6th
None of the locations thrill me. July 6th in the graticule to our east looks pretty good - right near Carnation. --Thomcat 13:38, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
Facebook Group
There wasn't one, so I made one. Enjoy. http://www.facebook.com/posted.php?id=17607679505 --Fiveofoh 18:18, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
Saturday August 30th Geohash @ PAX
I'd like to make the bold suggestion that we ignore whatever the algorithm says for this date and have it either at the Penny Arcade Expo or near the convention center--I'm assuming at least twenty of you locals are attending. Presumably, hundreds of xkcd readers and geohashers will be there and we can have the biggest meetup ever. -- Leoger
This seems like a safe bet. We can plan to have everyone reroute from the actual location to the convention hall.
We might even have people from other areas, that we could meet up with. I know people from england that have flown in to PAX.
Maybe in the forum or somewhere else, we could post an official invite for the 30th? --Nukewaste 00:52, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
Islands
This sucks. How do we get to those tiny little islands??
- Row boat?
- What if we instead head east to the next graticule when the point falls in or west of Puget Sound? It's always fun to go up to the mountains. - Cahlroisse
- There's mountains to the west as well... Puget sound is basically the eye of a geological hurricane. Everywhere you go, there be mountains. So don't discount the west side trips. - --Nukewaste 22:21, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
We should plan to have one or two outings to the [Mt. Rainier] or [Mt. St. Helens] graticules one Saturday or another when they fall within the parks at an accessible area.--Cahlroisse 05:05, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
- It would be a short notice thing, but yeah, I'm in! --Thomcat 22:49, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
Older
Dear God, they are all so far away!!
Gas concerns rule me out for this weekend (5/30 to 6/01). Mayhaps those who are going can offer carpooling services?
Carpooling should always be part of the plans! We should start hashing it out Friday morning for a Saturday trip. This city has a reputation to uphold, after all. --Leoger
Saturday June 21st Geohash
So, for the first time in awhile, I have a free Saturday (I think). I definitely would like to make an excursion to wherever the Seattle GeoHash is that day or an alternate. Morethen willing to pick up people and/or carpool. Takers? - Narfy
- Hope it's near Fremont - then we can take in the Solstice Parade at the same time. --Thomcat
- Forgot about that :-) A friends Birthday party is also the same day, so I may not be able to make it. - Narfy
2008-06-21 47 -122 -- in Puget Sound. Mount Rainier graticule looks achievable, if you want to climb from 3200' to 5200' up a forested slope. Seriously, though, two weeks is around the 4th of July - that might be our best bet for a meetup. --Thomcat 14:14, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
Water, third day in a row, in Lake Washington again. --Thomcat 13:37, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
Friday June 27
Friday Hash - Medina South Park. I've never been there, but it looks pretty easy to get to. Let's meet at 4:00 then walk the 64 meters to the actual spot - I have to leave at 4:30. --Thomcat 13:56, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
Saturday June 28
Saturday Hash - Between Ballard and Fremont, maybe half a block from the Burke-Gilman trail. I'll be bicycling down to this one. As you can look up the street and see Hales, we can all qualify for the Pub_Geohash as well. Huzzah! --Thomcat 13:56, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
- Underage feel free to show up as well - Hales has a "family" section. --Thomcat 14:16, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
Sunday June 29
On the west shore of Bainbridge Island, but the hash in the graticule south of us looks sweet. Thinking about the gas cost, though. Perhaps a car pool? We can talk on Saturday. --Thomcat 13:56, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
