The Vancouver co-ordinates for the first official meetup date fall about 5km offshore, southwest of Roberts Creek. This is more than "a couple km" from a viable land point, so I also checked the co-ordinates for Surrey (a mountain ridge east of Coquitlam Lake), Victoria (the northern edge of a housing subdivision in Sooke) and Bellingham (offshore, about 5km west of Anacortes Island). It looks as though even after the ferry ride, Victoria is the most accessible meetup, followed by Surrey. | The Vancouver co-ordinates for the first official meetup date fall about 5km offshore, southwest of Roberts Creek.
Having said all that, I can't get to tomorrow's meetup no matter which graticule we use; the co-ordinates were not helpful enough to point to the place I'm going to be.
