[[User:nzsteak|nzsteak]] is planning an expedition leaving from Wellington in the morning, others are welcome - leave a message on my talk page or I'll be on the IRC channel for a while (especially useful would be a handheld GPS, I don't want to carry a laptop so at the moment it's going to be "old skool" compass triangulation:) . | ||

This graticule includes the most southern part of the North Island. It has a greater land percentage than the neighbouring Wellington region making it slightly more suitable for geohashing. The land is also only from one island, eliminating a 3+ hour, $100+ ferry trip.
As for all New Zealand graticules, the Dow Jones does not open for any day until it is 1:30am the next day in New Zealand. Weekend meetups are still possible, however.
