Location

Today's 50 11 geohash is located on the Autobahn A9 south of the Hermsdorfer Kreuz between the exits to Triptis and Dittersdorf. According to google satellite view it is located on the left lane going south, according to google maps it is more on the northbound lanes.

Reinhard

I intended to visit Manu in Leipzig today and had to use the motorways A4 and A9 anyway, which would make me crossing the Hermsdorfer Kreuz. It wasn't too far south to this geohash and I was even more interested to go there, when I saw here, that there would be a speed limit of 100 or 130 km/h at the interesting section, which wasn't very likely, because at most parts of the A9 there is no speed limit which would make getting the speed racer achievement impossible. To make this expedition not too usesless, I decided to start a bike trip near the exit Dittersdorf, where I had to turn around.

So after work I started from Jena and headed south towards Munich from the Hermsdorfer Kreuz. Not missing the hash, going exactly 130 km/h and taking some useful pictures was a bit tricky, but I think I was successful. After parking the car in Plothen I made a short but nice bike trip of 38 km which helped collecting further GPS tracks (with elevation profile) for the quaeldich.de trip planner project. Then I countinued my trip to Leipzig taking another picture near the hash on one of the northbound lanes.

You can find the GPS track here. It looks like I've "missed" the hash by 6 m going south and 8 m going north, which I'd consider as being within GPS accuracy.
