Expedition
It was three miles (5 km) as the crow flies from home. I arrived 12 minutes ahead of schedule. There had been heavy rain and there was still a stiff breeze. A smallish wind turbine in the next field was groaning and whining. The field perimeter footpath was on the wrong side of a drainage ditch so I followed the perimeter on the correct side of the ditch. Near the hashpoint there were tractor tracks leading close to the point. The moon had not yet risen and the temperature had dropped to 4.5 C, more typical for December.
