The McMinnville, Tillamook, and Forest Grove area graticule is at 45 N, 123 W. This area contains farmland and a portion of the Coast Range, Tillamook Forest, and descends into the Willamette Valley. Easy access to much of the Tillamook Forest as well as coastal areas to the west and foothills and flatter areas to the east provides opportunity for hiking to geohashing locations when local and/or logging roads do not.

Oat field west of North Plains, Oregon - Expedition failure.
The Portland Graticule folks took a field trip to visit the 2009 Retrohash, which was just off Highway 26, about an hour west of Portland.
- 02/02/2009 In this graticule's first recorded geohash, Haschel Cedricson and Lizzy97396 go to a Christmas tree farm on top of a mountain.
