Plans
This was in the woods just to the north of Plainsboro Preserve, and potentially reachable through the forest even though not on public property. This would be one of the very few geohashing expeditions involving me but not my bicycle, and Plainsboro Preserve is one of my favorite places when it's too cold to ride.
Expedition
At about 40 and sunny, it was a good day for a walk. I had seen a creeks on an earlier hike frozen solid and dusted with snow when only one other human had walked by, great for animal tracks; now the repeated melting and refreezing of the snowpack on poorly drained ground had left wide stretches of soft ice over any depression or rill that could flood. However, the creek along the northern boundary of the Preserve past the Blue Trail was unfrozen and too wide to leap, and I would have to hope my boots didn't sink enough for freezing water to pour over the top. I still might have crossed for the last 200 meters or so to the coordinates if it weren't for the fact that the Preserve closed at 5 and having my car locked in would have been quite a problem.
