Location

Up the Olema Valley Trail, right off Highway 1, in the Point Reyes National Seashore park. Looks to be right off the trail, fairly easy to get to.

Plans

Copied from the page with the wrong year:

It's a bit iffy, bet we get no trespassing'ed, but it's also possible to pick up a cool acheivement for Beast of Burden and Admit One.

After a bit more use of Google Maps -

It's on the Olema Valley Trail. Looks like ir's 3 ft to the left of it. We can sign up for the ($40) group trail ride, which is on Stewart Trail. If they reach Stewart Trail via Olema Valley Trail, we're in.

Expedition

  • Just arrived; cannot make it before the 3:00 trail ride leaves. Best of luck to Anniepoo on this fun geohash! -- Thomcat @37.3649,-121.9230 14:16, 27 January 2013 (PST)

AAargh - long after the event I'm writing this tale of woe. Couldn't do it before this. The night before I drove the RV to South SF to pre-position.

Discovered about 1pm that the point wasn't on a hiking trail, but on a horse trail. And I could rent a horse! Beast of BURDEN, HERE I COME.

Waited as long as I could for Thomcat, discovered he was arriving in SJ, had to go on alone.

Drove north following the GPS - very bad move. Took the wrong fork at the confusing 1/101 split and the GPS obediently rerouted me through San Anselmo! I didn't realize it for a bit, and ended up struggling to get my vehicle up the hills in the back woods.

Had to give up and turn around. That made it way too late to get to the hash point before they closed.

What a frustrating, stupid way to blow a very simple, very very fun hash! Anniepoo (talk) 16:53, 2 March 2013 (EST)
