Plans

I don't think I really had a plan... I left home around 9:30 am, happened to receive today's geohash from XKCD Notify, saw it was close and decided "hm, maybe I should go do that hash".

Expedition

During my 3-hour break (11am-2pm), I decided to take the TTC, as I usually do, to get to the hash.

Starting at the OISE building at the University of Toronto, where my last class had just finished, I was walking down St. George St., heading to the Bahen Centre in the south end of campus, intending to work on an assignment. Upon reaching Wellesley St., I saw a westbound 94 bus at the stop, so I decide to take that. So much for homework.

Once I got to Ossington station, I took the 2, 1 and 4 subways to Don Mills station; although the location tracker didn't show it because I was underground for most of the trip, that really is the shortest way to get to Don Mills.

The 167A and 24B buses both went to that location, but neither of them were coming for over 10 more minutes, so I decide to take the 85A bus, which was much more frequent, to the closest stop on Sheppard Ave at Consumers Rd.

From there, it was a bit of a walk down to the hashpoint. I was planning to walk down Consumers, but as I was walking I overheard two guys in front of me talk about a shortcut across the parking lot, so I followed them. Sure enough, I got to the other side of the road, behind the building next to the field.

I walk across the field a bit, phone in hand, making sure I get as close to the hashpoint as possible. It was a bit harder to find, since it was just a grass field with no landmarks whatsoever. I did manage to get to around 0.2 m of the hashpoint though, according to my phone's GPS sensor.

There wasn't really much to see in the area, except a few buildings, some cars, and a couple of bus stops. I took a few pictures with my phone, which at this point was all wet because it was actually snowing a bit... then I took the next bus out of there.
