Today's hash was on the edge of a road at the southern end of Leiden. I actually had time to go there during the daytime, because my new employer considers Good Friday to be a holiday (it is not a national holiday; while schools and government offices are closed, the private sector generally keeps working). The exact location looked slightly tricky, right on the edge of a busy road. Nevertheless I got on my bike and rode through Delft, Rijswijk, Voorburg, Leidschendam and Voorschoten to reach the Voorschoterweg in Leiden. Because the road was rather busy (as it usually is), my strategy was to stand on the bike path and wait for a lull in traffic, then quickly scoot forward to grab the hash point and retreat to safety. This worked surprisingly well, and I managed to reach the point. Then I rode home again.

I saw this hash was located in a convenient drive-through place. So, because of my ambition to fill my geocaching dates found calendar I picked two caches near today's hashpoint. I managed to hit the hashpoint almost exactly at hash o'clock but 100m further at the crossing I realized that I drove at 50 km/h but that actually the maximum speed was probably 70 km/h. So I did a U-turn a bit further on, returned and did another U-turn to be able to hit the hashpoint at 70 km/h. Hm. I accidentally set the speed control to 75 and thus the car showed 73 km/h at the hashpoint. Not bad, because prbobably that is actually closer to doing 70 km/h because of the fact that they always show a bit higher than actual. So I claim a success for the speedracer here!

After this I parked and walked to the roadside and took a few pictures. Then I went to find the two caches and was likely leaving the area when FelixTheCat arrived. A near miss sadly!
