From Geohashing

You just posted on my talk page that I've been putting my expedition reports in the "No GPS" category... I recall reading somewhere that "No GPS" really means "No tracklog" (and have therefore been removing that category from only my Tron achievements), but your interpretation does make more sense; I'll start leaving that out. Amsterdam 11 oktober 2013?

Palmpje

Hello Palmpje, "I am almost daily browsing the wiki, cleaning up things, mending broken links, ..." I am new at this wiki. Do you have an idea, what I have to do, that an expedition will autmaticlly be listet in / added to the days page? e.g. 2013-11-14_49_8 to be listed in 2013-11-14

And maybe you have some other ideas how I can improve my entries in this wiki.

There seem to be less and less people playing geohashing during the last two years. I hope it will not end. What do jou think?

Greetings--Q-Owl (talk) 05:27, 15 November 2013 (EST)

Hi, Palmpje, Thanks very much for the offer to help with my expedition report. There was quite a learning curve to produce my first report (only to be expected, and nothing could be done to improve things) even though I have contributed to other wikis before.

I made a mess of the initial construction of the new page (and had to try it several times), and partly I would argue that I didn't realise that the expansion would work when I previewed the page. (When I saw that the initial text would get expanded once the page was saved, I assumed that you needed to save the page to get the expansion, so did not do the normal thing of checking the preview before I saved the page. Only later did I realise the preview would work). I will update the wiki instructions in case anyone else makes this mis-step!.

After that I got a bit bored, and went off to do something else before I came back to record the details of the expedition, hence the vagueness about whether the expedition was completed.

I did have photographic evidence, so now will upload that and add it to the page.

Hi, Any idea why only the first photo is showing up on this page: 2014-03-24 51 -0

Sorry, forget it, it's the case sensitive JPG/jpg! and/or spaces around the vertical bar (|).
