Matty K's Adventure
I decided to attempt our potentially difficult hash with my 3-year- and 16-month-old daughters. For me it was a chance to get out of the house. For them it was an "avencher".
We drove to Woodstock (the location of my first and only successful hash in the graticule), and turned left. A little way along we saw a wallaby sitting in the middle of the road. By the time I got the camera out he'd had enough and decided to hop it.
Then we continued on—a little slower now—until we reached the potential turnings to the site. The first gate was locked, as I'd assumed it would be.
The second gate was locked but had an intercom (as it was the main driveway to the homestead). If I'd cared more, I may have buzzed and asked for permission to go wandering around their paddocks.
We back-tracked to the first gate. If I didn't have the girls I may have just skipped through and made the rest of the trip on foot. As it was we took some photos, explored the fence line (just to be sure), and came home. Basically.
