Plans

The hash was in a vacant lot off of a housing development under construction in Monroe township, less than 10 miles from home. Nothing would be in the way but weather.

Expedition

It became apparent that things had not gone right when I got to Cranbury, found Main Street blocked off for some sort of town festival, and found that the batteries in my camera were too dead to take pictures of it. A drizzle began just south of town, and the roads were wet. When I arrived at the hash point, I found that my GPS was still at home: when I had put the note with the coordinates on, I had neglected to put it back in my pack. The area was relatively accessible, but without a camera or GPS there wasn't much to do but stand about a hundred yards south of the hash point, listening to an engine run on a construction vehicle with nobody present while my shoes and bike tires sank about an inch into the mud.

Batteries were dead. There aren't any.
