A muddy field in north Nottinghamshire. The perfect Boxing Day hash, with snow and ice to go along with the mud!

The Plan
Turns out the hash point is only a few miles from my parents' house, just right for a Boxing Day stroll as we were too stuffed from Christmas feasting for a real trek. No GPS, but the hashpoint was well landmarked considering it was in yet another field.
The Expedition
Being the first Christmas with snow on the ground since I was about 4, the route was about as treacherous as you can get around here. Which meant it was still an easy stroll, but with a fun 2inch layer of ice covering the whole track leading most of the way to the hashpoint. Is there a skating to the hashpoint award?! Extra points go to the dog for skating with far more style than the humans.
The hashpoint turned out not to be in a fallow field, but one with newly planted crops. We navigated our way along hedges and through woods to get to the far side, and found a cropless but also fenceless and very open boundary between fields which would get us close to the hashpoint. Being pretty worried about getting shot by a farmer, Scruffy Bumblebee and Stone Wolf ran along the boundary (harder than imagined in thick damp freshly-turned mud), and placed the sign as close to the hashpoint as possible without walking on crops (~60m North of the hashpoint), whilst Ravenugru stayed with the manic dog to stop him destroying all crops within running distance. Then we legged it the rest of the way out of being shot in the back territory.
