Plans
- Will attempt to make my way to the hashpoint around 14:00, but if I spot an opening in the weather earlier in the day, I will make full use of it. (nesbiteg 20:30 PST)
Expedition
nesbiteg
After constructing a wort chiller to make his next batch of homebrew even better, nesbiteg set off for the hashpoint on his bike at around 13:30 PST. Almost immediately, the weather took a turn for the worse, with gusty winds and rain making for a harrowing descent. But what is geohashing without a little adrenaline? The 10 mile ride to the coordinates was an easy one, with very little climbing to do. However, once he reached the planned entry point to the woods to find the hashpoint, nesbiteg ran into fencing prohibiting the easy access he had hoped for.
Not to be deterred, he set off to find another entry point to the woods. nesbiteg found a tantalizing road curving into the woods, but noticed heavy "No Trespassing" signage. Attempts to receive a geohashing blessing from the property owner fell on deaf ears (or no ears at all).
Jim
Jim headed to the hashpoint as well, having an errand to run down in the Wilsonville area.
However, he attempted from the I-5 side of the hashpoint. There was a little side road that dead-ended at the highway itself, and then a pathway along the highway. Jim got to about 200 feet, and then found a fence blocking his path into the dense blackberry which he wasn't very enthused about entering anyway.
