Expeditions

This expedition is a retro geohash occurring on February 11, 2016. It could have been a possible geohash for me as I was around at the time and actively geohashing at the time. It makes me wonder what I was doing at the time to pass this one up.

I started from a previous Geohash that was near by. As I pulled into the golf driving range at the golf course, I could see the woods that I would have to climb into. I walked back and forth looking for the easiest way in. I climbed up the hill and made the 294 feet into the woods to find the Hash spot.

I took a few pictures and then made my way out the closest exit I could make. If you look from the last picture in the gallery the top of the golf driving range, to the left of that is some dense brush. That direction looked the shortest way out. As I was climbing up the hill, I saw just on my side of the dense brush a black golf bag. It was slightly faded and dirty and looked like it had been there a while. I reached down and picked it up. As I looked into the thick brush I could see golf clubs. As I started to pull them out I noticed that they were broken in half.

I pulled out 7 to 10 golf clubs that were broken in half before pulling out one that wasn't broken. I pulled out a total of about 15 clubs and only 2 of them were not broken. I kept the 2 clubs.

It reminded me of every golf movie I had ever seen of someone breaking their clubs and throwing them in the water, except this was into the bushes. The two clubs that were not broken were drivers and probably because they had thicker shafts or the person breaking the clubs had tired by the time they reached the last two.

Although the clubs were in the brush, it appeared that the person decided to heave the bag over the brush instead of into the brush.

It made me think for a while as I was driving away what made the person so mad as to abandon an entire bag of clubs into the brush?

I didn't spend too much time on it though.
