The hash fell about 20 miles away and while it would be one of my longer rides this year, this was close enough to bike. The expedition began around 15:00 and was nearly a straight shot down Rt 62, a short way on Rt 39 and then a half mile down a country road. It was pretty uneventful until I got into Gowanda with about 3 miles to go when the road tilted way up and took a long time to climb up(but sure was fun going back down). Once to the top though, it was flat to the hash. There was a slight bend in the road and I was pretty sure the hash was in that forest, but I could see bright green squares along the edge. Riding up to the woods, I saw they were Posted signs. It was ok though because about 30 yards from the road, the ground dropped onto a steep gully and even if it wasn't posted, I doubt I would have attempted to scramble down and up the other side in road-bike cleats. I stopped to take some photos, eat something and rested for a little bit before heading for home.
