This was a fortuitous hashpoint as I needed to drive into the city anyway to pick up some apricots my mom got me from the market earlier in the day. I messed up the initial batch of Apricot Jam and needed to try again. And since I was going to be up that way, I also called my girlfriend to see if she wanted to meet me at Britesmith Brewery after the hash for a drink. She was getting a haircut so we aimed to meet around 19:30.
With all my plans in place, I relaxed for a bit after work and headed to the hash around 18:15. Getting to the park without too much trouble, I pulled in and immediately saw I might be in trouble. There were a ton of cars and some of the diamonds near the entrance were being used. This hash was way at the end of the park, but I wasn't hopeful. Carefully driving that way, I could see people playing at all the diamonds. I guess we'll just see how close I can get. Parking the car, I hopped out and wandered over to the edge of the field. It appeared to be a Co-ed Adult Softball league and while the current inning was ending as I walked up, it actually seemed to be a semi-serious league as there was a dedicated umpire at each diamond. Not wanting to interrupt the game to ask and run out there real quick, I just took a quick picture and stopped short about 70 feet/20 meters.
I half considered coming back after drinks, but parks in the area tend to close at dusk, I didn't think I'd have time. Plus, it would be way out of the way to my parents. Oh well. Better luck next time...
On the way to the brewery, my girlfriend called saying the place was packed and there were people all over walking around and she didn't think we were going to be able to get in. We ended up changing the plan on the fly and going to Griffin Gastropub on Transit instead. It looks real crappy on the outside, but inside was a proper pub setup and a ton of beer taps. It was a great place after all. Turns out there was a 'Music on Main St' event next door to Britesmith and at a bunch of other establishments in the area so that's the reason for all the commotion. We'll get to that brewery eventually...
At least one thing went to plan today: The apricots were delicious and the Jam (made over the weekend) turned out better this time.

Ribbons
No access due to an event doesn't really fit any Consolation Ribbons. So nothing today, unless one of the players becomes a future Geohasher and wants to take a Curse of Unawareness.
