I drove down to visit my Brother in NC on Thursday (2021-12-02) making a stop in MD to visit a friend on the way. Unfortunately, there was no good Geohashes on the way down or around Raleigh. My brother lives in New Bern, NC, but we planned on going to Raleigh to see the Buffalo Sabres take on the Carolina Hurricanes (Hockey team). It was a great visit to see his family and the two little nieces who are growing up real fast. The only complaint was the Sabres played terribly, losing the game 6-2. But otherwise, we hit up a couple breweries and found a giant flea market in Raleigh. My brother took me and the girls to a great BBQ place about an hour from New Bern on Sunday when we got back.
Back to today and the Geohash, I was driving home after stopping again at my friend's in MD for the night (it breaks up the drive nicely with about 5 and 8 hour legs instead of about 11.5 hours). I had left before the hashpoints were posted but pulled over around 09:30 to check the points and see if I could pick up something on the way home. This one appeared to be right on a road and just about a mile or so from my current route home! I plugged in the hashpoint into my GPS and was on my way.
Not a whole lot else to say about this one. I was able to find the hash-road without any trouble but right near the first house, I saw a sign indicating this was a 'Private Drive', so this was Posted after-all. I probably could have kept driving down the road to the hash, since there were other houses along here, but I respected the sign and will take a +1 to my No Trespassing count.
I didn't realize what Graticule I was in, but this would have been a new one for me...maybe I should have snuck down the road...oh well.
Getting back on the road, it was an uneventful rest of the drive home to wrap up a great trip.
