I was driving back from a New Year's Eve gathering and this geohash wasn't too out of the way, so I stopped nearby and headed on foot towards the destination. The geohash was at the edge of an outdoor community pool that was surrounded by fence and gates (makes sense as it was in the middle of a residential community that was not technically gated, but did have some HOA signage). The edge of the water was set back far enough from the perimeter fence that I would not be able to properly reach the geohash coordinates without actually gaining access to this gated pool area.

I was hoping to arrive at this geohash shortly after midnight as the year turned over to 2024. Not only would that timing be kinda neat, but it would also probably increase my chances of bumping into a party at the pool that would be cool with letting me in for a bit. To look for some clothes or bag that I think I left behind poolside, of course.

In reality, it was past 1 a.m. when I finally got there. And while the pool area gate was slightly ajar on my arrival, I believed I could hear only two soft voices at the pool. I guess I left my party late only to arrive late to this party. I couldn't easily see the source of the voices, so to respect privacy at such late hours of the night, I decided not to open the pool gate or approach them. Since the gate had a sign about guests needing a resident's permission to use the pool area, I headed home satisfied with one more expedition to credit towards a Posted achievement.
