Geohashing General Meetings

From Geohashing

Proposal

I'd like to propose a possibly monthly 'meeting' of the geohashing community in the irc channel. It seems to me that we have lots of things under discussion that it would be worth getting a decision on, and I feel that a chat room conversation is the best way to do this for a couple of reasons. 1. We can iron out all the little kinks etc before making a decision, 2. It's a hell of a lot faster, 3. It allows for full communication of ideas more effectively, 4. Under discussion topics move so fast and I for one always forget to re-check them.

I would welcome thoughts on the validity of the idea, suggested times and dates and topics to be brought up, in that approximate order. Regards, UnwiseOwl 08:40, 27 May 2009 (UTC).

Overall Idea

If this is bad idea you should say so here. Loudly, as the owl is deaf.

Suggested Dates and Times

Obviously we want as many people as possible to be able to come, and obviously not everyone will be able to. Suggest times for the first meeting here and comment on your availability for them (we'll work out when we need another one later). At the moment I'm thinking that the votes made at the meeting will not be final, they will be open for about a week afterwards so that those who were unavailable can cast their votes, too, but that most of the discussion will happen in the meeting. A full transcript will be available after the meeting for those who missed out.

Agenda

  • Voting on t-shirt designs to suggest to Randall for inclusion in the xkcd store.
  • Voting on the actions towards proposed achievements.
  • Changes to definitions of achievements.
  • Add yours here!
