I'm a new geohasher in the Aurora, Illinois graticule who still doesn't quite know what he's doing. Much to my surprise, The Wife want's to geohash too!

I use the peeron coordinate calculator and Google maps to research geohashes ahead of time, then I use the Geohash Droid app on my Android phone to track our progress to the target and to upload pictures to the wiki. Afterwards, I logon to the wiki to update our expedition narrative.

Expeditions we are planning/have attempted:

• 2013-08-31: A parking lot in St. Charles, Illinois, U.S.A.
• 2013-06-21: By railroad tracks in Lisle, Illinois, U.S.A.
• 2013-05-11: Only 5 miles from our home, this hash is by the Danada Square East Shopping Center, Wheaton, Illinois, U.S.A.
• 2013-04-04: Just off the sidewalk in a residential neighborhood in Lisle, Illinois, U.S.A.
• 2013-03-23: In a field in Malta, Illinois, U.S.A.
• 2013-02-23: Canceled because the wife was feeling unwell. Target was near Charles East High School in St. Charles, Illinois, U.S.A.
• 2012-08-18: In a residential neighborhood in Crystal Lawns, Illinois, U.S.A.
• 2012-03-24: Beneath some high-tension wires near Dekalb, Illinois, U.S.A.
• 2012-02-29: Aborted! The target was in a patch of woods near Wilmington, Illinois, U.S.A. The weather threatened rain and we chickened out.
• 2012-02-11: Out in left field on a baseball diamond in Oswego, Illinois, U.S.A. It was COLD!
• 2012-01-28: Another failure. The target was in a field north of the Illinois/Wisconsin border, west of I-94 in the Kenosha, Wisconsin gradicule, but we were blocked by a "No Trespassing" sign.
• 2012-01-14: In a field (covered with snow) off of I-80 near Morris, Illinois, U.S.A.
• 2012-01-07: In a field across the street from a quarry in Newark, Illinois, U.S.A.
• 2011-12-21: This hash was in a neighboring gradicule (Kenosha, Wisconsin), but since it was only 5 miles from the office I couldn't resist. This was my first geohash without The Wife.
• 2011-12-03: Near the Dresden Nuclear Power Plant in Morris, Illinois, U.S.A.
• 2011-11-21: Easy hash three miles from our home in Lisle, Illinois, U.S.A.
• 2011-11-12: This one was in a corn field near Sugar Grove, Illinois, U.S.A.
• 2011-10-29: Another success. Target was in a patch of woods behind a suburb in Joliet, Illinois, U.S.A.
• 2011-10-15: First success! Target was in a field behind A1 Self Storage in West Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A.
• 2011-10-01: First attempt and first failure. Target was in Maramech Woods Nature Preserve in Little Rock Township, Illinois, U.S.A. We didn't know the swamp was there until we stepped in it.
