Right, so geohashing is a thing I've known about for a while, but only recently have I had both the means and desire to do it. I've gone off to university now (and I have a CAR!), so I have more control over where I go and when, and I have recently translated that freedom into geohashing. Life has been busy throughout the year, and Maine winters get dangerous, but summer is here now, and I plan to take full advantage of my time (as soon as I finish this last final).

I am currently based out of the Bangor graticule, but I will be spending a few weeks at home in the Brunswick graticule, and I may wander to other local ones in the state. No one seems to be hashing up here, but maybe that will change with time. I'm having a good time on my own so far.

Trusty Equipment

RC, a red 2010 Dodge Caliber that I use for >90% (by distance) of my travel to hashes
OnePlus One smartphone (for GPS, map navigation, track logging, communication, and entertainment on long hikes)
Backpack and water bottle (neither of which seem to ever have enough volume)

Equipment I Want

A quadcopter for aerial video of hashes (my buddy and I are building one over the summer anyway, so this seems like a good use)
An on-the-go charger for my phone (might build a solar charger and/or get a cigarette lighter charger for RC)

Expeditions

Attempted and technically failed to reach the hash on 7 May 2015 in Bangor (page incoming) due to thick woods. Came within 75m of the hash after several kilometers of hiking.
