Hello! I have been on my first geohashing adventure and loved it. The pointless trek to randomly generated coordinate was awesome. Unfortunately I can't afford to be driving all over creation so I will most likely add/subtract 1/2 a degree to get coordinates closer to where I live. I also have a job that will keep me from doing any wandering during the week. What a drag. But I do plan to wonder around on the weekends. I don't have any kind of GPS so I will probably use googlemaps to get me very very close, which is good enough for me. This also means that most of my evidence will have to be accepted on good faith.

Hello

Hello all! I have attempted two geohashes now and have come up empty on both occasions. I now have a simple GPS, but still cannot range too far from home base.

A little bit about me

I am an 8th grade science teacher who loves the outdoors. I ride my bike to work and love what I do. I am the assistant coach for my school's fast pitch softball team. I have lived in the same graticule (30 -81) for most of my life so I know a lot of the area. I just hope my bike can get me where I need to go.

PS: My brothers are also in this ( Woodveil ). They beat me getting started.

Geohashes I've scouted

On 2009-01-18. Two weeks since my last attempt, I now have a simple GPS and some time on my hands. The hash was close and appears to be reachable. Click and see how it went.

On 2009-01-02. Being very interested in completing a geohash before having to go back work I checked the coordinates right at 9:30 EST. It was only six miles away. And in a location that I thought would be easily accessible. How did it end up? Click and see.
