Description
The Senkaku Islands (尖閣諸島) are a small group of uninhabited islands, all but one of which lie within this graticule in the East China Sea. The islands are currently administered by Japan, but both Taiwan and China also claim sovereignty. This dispute is an important source of ongoing friction between the countries.
The islands are known in Taiwan and China as the Diaoyutai Islands (钓鱼台群岛).
