I had during previous expeditions got stuck with the car so I took some time to drive around to find a place to park the car safely. I got about 460 meters off, fair enough. I readied my gear during the walk, it was quite cold so I had to walk quickly to keep warm. When approaching I decided to sneak through the forest which was next to the house. When I stepped into the forest I sunk down in snow up to my groin. I though my kneehigh winter-wellingtons would keep me safe in most conditions, but now the snow poured down into the shoes. Trying to find my way through the forest using the GPS got me closer to a barbed wire contained area. I was hoping for a grassy field in the winter when I realised it was some animals roundup. I wasn't ready to try to climb over, since I was already deep in snow and didn't want to risk my trousers as well. I though about going to the house and explain I had to get into their property. It would have helped if I had a printout, but since my only printer doesn't work, I have had to make without before. I wasn't sure they would buy it and my allotted time was closing to zero and I had to get back to work, so I chickened out. Properly displayed by the sign on my way back. It was -6 C outside, the car reported -8.5 C and my way back wasn't going to be any warmer since the car was in need of repaor, it could no longer supply heat to the inside whatsoever.

Plans

I hoped it would be in a field and not on somebody's property and it was close to home so why not check it out.

Expedition

I had during previous expeditions got stuck with the car so I took some time to drive around to find a place to park the car safely. I got about 460 meters off, fair enough.

I readied my gear during the walk, it was quite cold so I had to walk quickly to keep warm. When approaching I decided to sneak through the forest which was next to the house. When I stepped into the forest I sunk down in snow up to my groin. I though my knee high winter-wellingtons would keep me safe in most conditions, but now the snow poured down into the shoes.

It would have helped if I had a printout, but since my only printer doesn't work, I have had to make do without before. I wasn't sure they would buy it and my allotted time was closing to zero and I had to get back to work, so I chickened out.

Properly displayed by the sign on my way back. It was -6 C outside, the car reported -8.5 C and my way back wasn't going to be any warmer since the car was in need of repair, it could no longer supply heat to the inside whatsoever.
