This page was created so that a standardised format could be decided on for Geohashing groups on Facebook, as well as a place to collect a list of links to current groups.

"Standardised format" mainly refers to the name and type of the group.

Possible name formats

Geohash - [Town/City/Area]

Geohashing - [Town/City/Area]

[Town/City/Area] Geohashers

Because there are some towns/cities with the same name, but in different countries, [Town/City/Area] would work best if you use what Facebook gives you when you start typing in their "City/Town:" box.

For example:

"Toronto, ON" refers to Toronto, ON, Canada

while

"Toronto, Australia" refers to Toronto, New South Wales, Australia
