Much of the island is overgrown with Macchia = impenetrable bushes. So getting to a geohash is very hard. Further, the area is mostly mountaineous and travel across the islands takes forever. Miscellanea
2013-06-09: Spent two weeks on Corsica (France). The island has four (five) graticules but most of the time, only one graticule had a geohash on land. Much of the island is overgrown with Macchia = impenetrable bushes. So getting to a geohash is very hard. Further, the area is mostly mountaineous and travel across the islands takes forever. Therefore, I didn't get to any geohash at all :-(
