Incidentally, OtherJack was right about the county being available in Bing maps - right next to the details about the geographic point. The lines are there also, but the individual counties (or states) are not named by the lines themselves. Now I have enough information - for instance, Sunday's geohash is in Thurston county, albeit in the water. --[[User:Thomcat|Thomcat]] ([[User talk:Thomcat|talk]]) 23:14, 26 May 2013 (EDT) | Incidentally, OtherJack was right about the county being available in Bing maps - right next to the details about the geographic point. Original discussion
I have baseball games at 11:30 and 2, so making the traditional meetup time is unlikely. Currently researching ferry schedules to figure out if before or after makes more sense. --Thomcat (talk) 10:44, 24 May 2013 (EDT)
- If it ends up being early evening I may try to meet you... this would make an interesting bike hash... -- OtherJack (talk) 13:26, 24 May 2013 (EDT)
Morning
- To the Edmonds ferry dock - 30 minutes, then 30 minute crossing (bold indicates 7:50 ferry)
- Kingston Ferry dock to geohash - 15 minutes
Possible geohash arrivals - 6:20, 7:05, 7:55, 8:35, 9:35
- Geohash to Bainbridge ferry - 15 minutes, then 35 minute crossing
- Seattle Ferry dock to Baseball - 20 minutes
- Valid ferries to arrive by 11:00 - 9:35, 8:45
Evening
- Baseball to Seattle Ferry dock - 20 minutes, then 35 minute crossing
- Bainbridge ferry dock to geohash - 15 minutes
Possible geohash arrivals - 4:35, 5:25, 6:20, 7:20, 8:00
- 15 minutes to either ferry after the hash
- Possible Kingston departures - 5:30, 6:10, 7:00, 7:45, 8:20, 9:10, 9:40, 11:05
- Possible Bainbridge departures - 5:30, 6:30, 7:10, 8:10, 8:55, 9:45, 10:30, Midnight
Expense
The charge for both ferries is the same.
- $ 8.70 for bicycle and rider outbound, no charge inbound
- $13.25 for car and driver, charged each way
Bike geohash
I concur it would be a good bike hash, but as I have to work, impossible for me. If things went *very* quickly at baseball (roughly 5-10% of these tournament games) I could be on the 3:45 boat and arrive at 4:35 -- but arriving at 5:25 is really much more likely. --Thomcat (talk) 14:31, 24 May 2013 (EDT)
- 5:25 is fine, or even 6:20 or whenever it was. But later wouldn't be so good... should we say 5:25?
Geocache collision?
Worth scouting - [1]
Sidetrip Plans
Visit two Chief Sealth statues in Seattle, then the grave at 47.73053271, -122.55522072.

- Saturday meetup
- Geohashing (Mouseover) Day
- Towel Day (proposed)

- Geocache Collision
- Pub (Bella Luna has pizza and a pint and is in sight of the hash point)
- Tron (a big circle route)
- Holy Ground?
County Lines
Thomcat now has 6 of 8 counties required for a reverse regional geohash here in 47,-122.
--Thomcat (talk) 23:14, 26 May 2013 (EDT)
