Evil Monkey

Biked to the beach on what turned out to be a really nice day. Arrived a bit later than I planned, around 12:40pm. Looked around but didn't see anyone who looked pale and xkcd-y. Carved XKCD and -43 172 into the sand nearby to mark the place. Wonder what someone who doesn't know XKCD will think when they see it.

Afterwards biked along a track to Bottle Lake Forest Park. Some nice walking and mountain bike tracks to play around in for an hour or so. Took a wrong track at one point that was for horses. It was bumpy but ridable, until it turned into dry sand. At that point there was no point biking. Thought I would continue pushing the bike but found it got no better. After a brief attempt at walking back through the forest, gave up and just returned along the track.

Fun afternoon had by all (well it was just me!). Ended up doing about 48 km on the bike going to New Brighton, round Bottle Lake and then back to Sockburn.
