(((mysterious voice in your head urging you to break down and buy an actual gps...)))

Haha after yesterday's phone fail, I really want one. However, I am on a student budget. Do you know of any good models that are cheap? I found a used TomTom for $20, but isn't there a difference between the GPS units for cars and the ones that we need for geohashing?

Yeah I figured that's why you hadn't gotten one... I got a basic yellow Garmin one at the sporting goods store for $100 so maybe you could get a similar one used for less? I dunno... -- OtherJack 13:24, 14 August 2012 (EDT)
I have been checking Craigslist, and noticed that there seems to be a difference between automotive and sporting GPS devices. How do you tell? For example, is this[[1]] what I would need?

Never used one, though it looks kinda similar to stuff in pictures from other people's reports? I'm not sure. You could ask around. -- OtherJack 13:46, 15 August 2012 (EDT)
