Welcome
Welcome to the Geohashing Community! You picked a great time to join, the 21st of May is Geohashing Day!
Another matter: Your username has previously been used by another user. It is your account now, but if you don't object, there could be a notice on your userpage for users who may be looking for the other Cam. --Fippe (talk) 22:50, 20 May 2021 (UTC)
Thank you! I have added to my user page a reference to the previous person. --Cam (talk) 19:11, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
- You wrote that you don't know any other Geohashers. I noticed that Linuxonboard (talk | contribs) created an account the same day you did and is also based in the Fort Collins, Colorado graticule. I thought that means you know each other and created accounts together, but it seems like it was just a coincidence. But perhaps you will meet.
- Regarding formatting, you don't have to use HTML (but of course you can if you like to) for paragraphs, italics, etc. Wikipedia has a Cheatsheet with a list of wikitext examples. --Fippe (talk) 16:50, 25 May 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you for the Wikipedia cheatsheet page. I created the Linuxonboard account after realizing somebody else had 'Cam' prior to me joining just in case I wasn't able to disassociate the previous owner without removing their page entirely. I had not realized user pages can be moved like what you did for me, which was a big help and now I will be able to use this handle just fine.
