About
The coordinates fell in a field a few hundred feet off a road behind a house and some outbuildings.
Expedition
excellentdude: There's not a whole lot of story to tell here. The hash site was not quite 10 miles west of the city. I decided to brave the possibly snowy and icy country roads and give it a shot. To my surprise, much had melted off and the roads were clear. The Google map did not zoom in very far on this location. It turned out to be more populated than I thought it would be. When it came time to get off the road, park, and walk to the hash, I found myself at the Oneida Field Market. It was odd. I drove in the driveway, and there were houses on either side and a building in the back. The building was too small to be much of a market or business. I wondered if the people lived in one house and worked the market out of the other house. As it turned out, I don't think the field market folks were expecting visitors in the dead of winter. As I got out of my car, and approached the house to ask for permission to proceed to the hash, I could see a man looking at me through the window. Just as I was going to knock on the door, an older woman answered. She asked if I was lost. I told her "Not exactly," and proceeded to explain why I was there and what I wanted to do. She laughed at me and said "No! For what now? No." in such a way that made it clear she thought it was absurd and possibly harmful to her somehow. So I snapped a few photos from inside my car and left. I believe I got to within 100 feet of the hash. In the photo of the outbuilding and the field, you can either see the hash or it's right behind the building. I forgot to take a GPS reading in my car as I buckled up to leave, so I got a close one as I drove away down the road.
