Chelm as I know it
Hi JRK,
I saw that you're the only person who has ever geohashed in Chelm, Poland. You might find it interesting that stories about Chelm were a small part of my childhood. As a Jew with great-grandparents from Poland, I grew up reading stories of the "Wise Men of Chelm" who of course were famous for being incompetent and foolish.
What is the area like today? We both know there isn't any meaningful Jewish presence but it would be nice to hear a modern account.
