This point was even closer to where I live than the 2010-05-09 26 -80 hashpoint, so I attempted another Walk geohash. I set out from home around 4 PM into another hot Florida day (for the second winter in a row, we had some long cold spells, but not now) and walked straight west on SW 18 St. to try to get to the hashpoint, just off that street in the woods near a residential neighborhood, the railroad tracks, and I-95.

  The construction project on SW 18 St. that was still in progress when I walked by there last year is complete now, including bike paths.

  Heading down the road.

  Though they replaced a lot of sidewalk squares, the one with people's names from the '80s is still there.

  The new sidewalk winds its way around trees. It's complete all the way down this stretch of the road, making the walk a lot easier.

  Reaching the woods where the hashpoint is found, the undergrowth is too dense to proceed, and there are also some "No Trespassing" signs, this one upside down.

  The train tracks, and another warning sign.

  Going around the forest by way of a residential street, I pass this house, behind which is the hashpoint.

• 

  Another entry into the wooded area at the end of the row of houses has a locked gate and another police warning sign.

  This is the closest I got to the hashpoint, next to the house in picture #7 above.

Dan Tobias earned the No trespassing consolation prize by almost reaching the (26, -80) geohash on 2011-04-09.
