If anyone nearby me happens to read/stalk this page looking for other geohashers near to them, please contact me! I'd love to chat! I'm especially curious how you, or anyone else with Midwest experience, solves the problem that 95% of hashpoints around here end up in the middle of a field. Do you walk into the field, with or without permission? Do you log the expedition as a success from the nearest point on the road to the actual hashpoint? Or do you just not bother geohashing when the point isn't somewhere interesting? (If that's the case, when do you ever get an opportunity to go?) About Me
Hi! CJ here! Underachieving guy about 30 years old located in Northeast Iowa -- home is near the border between the Cedar Rapids North and Waterloo graticules.
Long-time fan of XKCD; new to geohashing. Interested as a Thing-To-Get-Outside-and-Do (while also getting a little exercise) in the wide open spaces of rural Iowa. Will likely be dragging along my two co-workers/friends on many expeditions, as they, too, want an excuse to get outside and get a little exercise every now and then -- but who knows if I'll ever convince them to create user pages.
(If that's the case, when do you ever get an opportunity to go?) I'd love to hear some feedback; educate me!
