Survey indicated the hashpoint was probably inside the building shown on the Bing map. I opted to walk around the block to it, just in case it was an open house or there was some way I could reach the windows (or roof) adjoining the construction site. Alas, no. I passed a site plan, and it seems like there are several buildings to occupy this largish block. Hooray for construction!

Expedition

Google maps aerial showed two empty lots, one or both being used for parking. Bing maps shows a building in one, and I agree with the consensus on discord - "doesn't look too promising". Still, less than a kilometer from the hotel? Definitely walking expedition worthy!

Side note - so far this trip has been strange. Five of the six last hashpoints on the west edge of the graticule, near Budapest. I wasn't here for Friday, and opted not to visit the middle of the Danube on Monday, but this is a run of luck that is not likely to last.

I walked from the hotel, choosing a Tron route just in case. Snapped pictures of a few things along the way, then reached the site. Indeed, the front of the lot is completely blocked off for construction, though the gate is open and I walked just inside. There was an extensive list of don'ts in Hungarian which I didn't attempt to translate either.

Google aerial showed another lot beyond the point, connecting to the next street. On the off chance I continued up to that - and found yet more construction. Another open gate, this time without proscriptions - so I entered and snapped another photo towards the location.

Walking back, Bruce cautioned me to not give up, and then a raptor taunted me. Thursday is still possible, and Friday if it's on the way to the airport - the plan is to fly home at 6am local time.
