* Valentine's Day is neither personal nor directly Geohashing-related. If we look at the Annual Events achievements, they are either personal (e.g. Birthday), directly Geohashing-related (e.g. Geohashing Day), or both (e.g. Hashiversary). The Towel Day achievement is the exception, but just going geohashing on that day isn't enough, you also have to bring a towel. Maybe this achievement should at least require bringing a date?

Do not oppose, but I think a better alternative would be turning the Towel Day achievement into a general Holiday achievement that requires you to go Geohashing on that particular day and in the spirit on that particular day. E.g. bringing a Towel on Towel Day, spending time with a date on Valentine's Day, lighting a Bunsen burner on Bunsen Burner Day, singing the national anthem on the national holiday, dressing as Darth Vader on Star Wars Day, you get the idea. --Fippe (talk) 05:58, 18 February 2024 (UTC)

:I honestly prefer that idea, the addition of the spirit of that day works well and is large enough to separate the concept from gratuitous ribbons. Would it be best for me to propose that at Talk:Towel Day achievement? Also, thank you for changing the template format to YYYY instead of YYYY-MM-DD. I knew it must have been possible to just have the year somehow but I'm not knowledgeable enough in ribbon making and didn't want to break anything. It's greatly appreciated :D --KerrMcF (talk) 17:55, 18 February 2024 (UTC)

::You are welcome! Yes, I think opening a new section at Talk:Towel Day achievement would be a good idea. --Fippe (talk) 22:37, 18 February 2024 (UTC)

Pros:

 • I think it's neat. But I'm heavily biased, since this is my hashiversary.
 • xkcd is a webcomic of romance, sarcasm, math, and language.

Cons:

 • There are millions of holidays out there. If this is approved, why not also have an achievement for Bunsen Burner Day?
 • Valentine's Day is neither personal nor directly Geohashing-related.

I honestly prefer that idea, the addition of the spirit of that day works well and is large enough to separate the concept from gratuitous ribbons.
