Location
On the German Baltic island of Fehmarn, approximately halfway between the villages of Dänschendorf and Vadersdorf (no, it's not pronounced like the Sith Lord's name, but I like to pretend it is).
Participants
- mtu and his girlfriend
Planning
More than two hours have already gone into planning this! For somebody not owning a car, this hash is a major pain in the back. Here are my thwarted plans, in the order of their inception:
- Going by train and taking our bikes.
Fail: My girlfriend doesn't have her bike in Hamburg, and renting one here for the whole day is expensive. - Going by train, then walking.
Fail: The weather is going to be very bad. - Going by train, then renting a car on the island.
Fail: No car rental's open on sundays. - Going by train to the next big city, then renting a car there.
Fail: The only eligible car rental is one I reject for political reasons. - Going by train, then renting bikes on the island.
Fail: No bike rental's open this sunday. A little girl told me her daddy, who gives out the bikes, isn't going to be back until sunday night, and that there's no other place in town. - Renting a car right where I live, then going all the way to the hash.
Fail: Too expensive. - Going by train, then taxing a taxi to someplace close to the hash and walking the rest.
Success?
