Canberra, Australia
The Canberra graticule lies at -35 degrees latitude, 149 longitude. It encompasses Canberra, Queanbeyan, Bungendore, Braidwood and a number of smaller towns.
The region consists of farmland, National Parks, a generally dry lake, and a few hills that we call mountains. Canberra (the largest city found in the locality) is more commonly known as the Politics, Porno and Pyro hub of the nation, but sometimes also referred to as Our Nation's Capital.

Eastern Australia is 14hrs ahead of NYC. So, like all other Australian cities, Canberra's target for the Saturday meet-up will be determined using Friday's (US Time) data - that means that we get Saturday's time on Friday at 23:30.
Where the target lands in the East of the graticule, -35, 148 may be the place to be. Likewise one notch to the North may be good where the target lands in an accessible spot there, and an inaccessible one here.

Locations
Saturday 24th May 2008
Geohash location:
- -35.400247°, 149.722771° or
- S35°24.0148', E149°43.3663' or
- S35°24'0.88", E149°43'21.97"
That's farmland on the Canberra side of Braidwood, near the Shoalhaven river. ~4km from the nearest marked road. 1 1/2 hours drive out of Canberra. I suggest leaving Canberra 13:30 to get there by 16:00.

Geohash location:
- -35.400247°, 148.722771° or
- S35°24.0148', E148°43.3663' or
- S35°24'0.88", E148°43'21.97"
On a hill side right at the edge of the Kosciuzko Nat Park; a couple of hours hike from the nearest road. A shorter drive, but Google expects it to take 1 3/4 hours to get near there. Presuming gates will be locked, I envisage a 1300m walk.
The second location looks nicer, but either way, wear hiking boots and carry some water. It's game day!
