Marvyn is a medical student who lives in Haarlem (52,4) and studies in Leiden. he will try to reach hashes in a 30km cycling radius from Haarlem or other ones further away when he finds the time. He owns no GPS device, so he will use maps and other old school methods. He got into geohashing because he is attracted to the idea of an instant adventure generator.

Expeditions

2. 2012-08-17 51 5 Succeeded. Reached a hash in an old barn used for camper storage, just off a dike along the river Lek, after convincing a lady we would not rob her so she would let us into her barn.

1. 2012-08-09 52 4 Succeeded. Reached a hash in some shrubs in an urban area in Hoofddorp, trying not to be attacked by scooter people, encountering Mysterious Objects and a naked man on the way back.

Marvyn earned the No Batteries Geohash Achievement by reaching the (52, 4) geohash on 2012-08-09.

Marvyn achieved level 1 of the Minesweeper Geohash achievement by visiting coordinates in Eindhoven, Netherlands and 1 of the surrounding graticules.

Marvyn earned the Ambassador achievement by obtaining permission from a nice lady to access the (51, 5) geohash on 2012-08-17.

Marvyn earned the Drag-along achievement by dragging Iris to the (51, 5) geohash on 2012-08-17.
